🥧 my love-hate relationship with Chase 🙄 Positive: *been banking with them 17+ yrs never delinquent *I have a high fico score *I have good income *Few low debts, don’t even have a car note 👍 (which is a plus) Negative: *have been denied twice, 1st one I was 2weeks away from 5/24 (to downgrade to 4/24) so they instructed me to wait a month to re-apply, I waited over 60 days, re-applied…DENIED 😮 even that this time was a business card I was told “you are out of the 5/24 indeed but last time they gave you wrong info. And bcuz “I didn’t have buss experience credit wise” they still used my personal credit report 😡 I even summit the case to recon department and that was a nightmare, they make me feel like a was trying to join the the secret service team, I felt I was in a criminal trial 🥺😭I’m surprised they didn’t asked me for a DNA test, the guy even mentioned stuff in my credit from 15yrs ago on which I told him “that’s irrelevant, legally that’s cleared and that should not be part of this conversation, what’s your point?” (Oh no I’m just mentioning so he said) Also they were counting the cards where I’m an authorized user as personal, I noticed so when he mentioned “how many credit cards I have” I was like wait a minute, something is not right here (and those cards are ALL pretty much in zero balance, never late or over the limit) so he then decided “not to count them against me” I should add, I totally HATE dealing with Chase, they are SO judging 🙄and make you feel like 💩 At least in my experience I guess next time I’ll have to visit a chaman + bath my self in holy water before I apply with Chase again, I had have absolutely no luck with Chase, being a loyal customer has NO value at all when it comes to applying for a new cc with them

How do you lower your credit limit or “carve” out your credit limit on existing cards before applying for a new one?

I maxed out about 20% of gross income. Last time when I tried to get a new Marriott card I had to move CLs around.😂

🥧 So real quick question I managed to get the flex last year August I got the venture X October Got the unlimited in January (for the match points back at the end of the year thing) And then I got a capital one business Does that mean I am at 4/24? Because I wanted to add the Amazon prime card and then the reserve But if the capital one business counts as a card Then am I out of luck?

🥧 Currently at 4/24. Ones on my list are World of Hyatt card and IHG Premier card. Think I am going all in on Hyatt with their superior point redemption rate. Earning isn't great: can do almost as good on some categories, better on others with Chase cards. Strategy is to use it as an "everything else" card up to $15k free night award. IHG would be backup hotel card (Hyatt isn't everywhere I need it) and want sign up bonus for future trips. Overall, the goal is max yield from spend. I think I can get more juice out of squeezing Hyatt's loyalty program (using its superpower - high redemption rate) than juice from simple cash back cards (e.g., X1).

Tfs Sebby. I have the purple Reserve card & I like the weight of it. My biggest benefit is the Sky & Centurion lounge access, especially on both ends of my trips. It's great to get food, beverages, and a chance to recharge myself and my devices. I also have a Delta gold biz card & a personal one. I downgraded the latter from platinum & am contemplating upgrading the biz gold to biz platinum. Working toward maintaining my Delta Gold Medallion status for next year.

But why would I apply for a card without sign on bonus😅

🥧 I can only get one more card before the 5/24 rule kicks in. Trying to determine if I go for Hyatt or united airlines. I will get the flex later. Picked up the sapphire preferred in branch to get that extra 10k points. Next year I'll upgrade to the reserve. I don't plan on using any points this year. December ill get my double points from my freedom unlimited, my 85k preferred then wait to upgrade to the reserve. 😈 Sebby. I'm conflicted about my next move.. I'm really enjoying marriott properties. I have a big disney world trip planned end of year. Should I spring for the amex bonvoy brilliant for the platinum status to *possibly* get a nice upgrade. Or wait 19 months to get a sign on bonus. Debating. Will be upgrading my bonvoy card to the ritz next year. Thanks.

I'm about to go on a 6-8wk road trip (which could go international) and am thinking about adding another card --- either the IHG Premier (as I'm about to hit Diamond Elite) or the Marriott Boundless (in order to get the Ritz-Carlton one day).....but I JUST got my first CSP two weeks ago. Here are my stats: Currently at 3/24 Venture X - February 5, 2024 Freedom Flex - March 11, 2024 CSP - June 6, 2024 FICO 784....and I've got plenty of space before hitting 50% of my income w/ Chase I'm thinking about pushing it mainly because I've got a couple big purchases I could make to easily hit the second SUB....but I'd have to make them by the end of June. Hive mind and/or Sebby: Thoughts? Is going after a second card in two weeks a mistake? Also, should I stick with IHG (for those free fourth nights) or start my journey with Marriott and get the Boundless? TIA, my friends!

I won’t be surprised if Chase removed the 48 month bonus rule and implemented a once in a lifetime bonus like Amex. Everyone is abusing the rule at this point 😂, making 60 to 75k every 4 years.
